CranioSacral Therapy (Upledger) in Pocklington, East Yorkshire.
PLEASE NOTE: I have now retired from my role as CranioSacral Therapist. Please contact me if you require recommendations for other local practitioners.
Via Upledger CranioSacral Therapy sessions my wish, is to create, during our sessions together, a non-judgemental, calm, nurturing, safe space. So that you can give yourself “me-time”, be authentically you and have the freedom to explore just what your “inner self” needs. During the hands-on process your body can begin to self correct as only it knows how.
What CranioSacral Therapy “gives me” as a recipient:-
Through CranioSacral Therapy I have been able to gain a much more peaceful, accepting yet curious state and my body-mind says “Halleluja” as she welcomes me back! I particularly enjoy the pain relief and ease my body feels after a session when the tissues have unwound.
I also notice other benefits. In particular my tendency (and maybe it is yours too) can be to fill every second of my life with “doing things” and in the process I lose myself. I become out of touch with my precious core being and what she needs. However, I eventually remember my inner wisdom, and from experience I know that when I give myself space, such as a CranioSacral Therapy session, I come “home” to myself and life becomes a whole lot more enjoyable. I begin to “be” rather than “do.” I remember loving kindness and I am able to access my inner “self” and know just what she needs a whole lot better.
During a CranioSacral Therapy session I may ask you if you would like to talk about what comes up as we work together and what you might be noticing. This can be very useful to you as it helps you find more about the issue you have come with. Upledger called this SomatoEmotional release. I will use Clean Language to facilitate this, which is a set of very simple questions that can be used to explore and develop any information, and in particular metaphors, that often come up during CranioSacral therapy sessions.
As Virginia Woolf wrote in A Room of One’s Own, “It is in our idleness, in our dreams, that the submerged truth sometimes comes to the top.”
